Ideas are like assholes; everyone has them

Ideas / Assholes / Opinions — they’re all the same. We all have them, none are all that special, and most of them stink (like 💩)

Most ideas are about as good as this….

About a week ago I read:

Your billion dollar idea ain’t worth a cent, by:

@jonwestenberg

I really enjoyed reading this blog because it’s been my mantra since I was about 24y/o, and it’s what I tell anybody who comes to me with an “amazing idea” now.

You always know a complete amateur, or someone who’s not that experienced (could be young, or first few times in business) when they say:

“I have this idea for a (insert App, insert business concept) but I’m not sure I should tell you because you might steal it”

Genius… 😳🤔

Seriously?

Here is my answer (rant) to that:

#1 — if you have an amazing idea, and you’re not doing shit about it; then maybe it’s not such a great idea.

#2 — chances are, your amazing idea is already being done by someone somewhere anyway.

#3 — anyone who’s ‘waiting around to steal someone’s idea’ won’t have the vision or balls to go an execute on it anyway.

#4 — anyone who has the ability to execute on your ‘amazing’ idea are too busy working on their own shit

#5 — even if your idea is amazing to you, it’s probably not going to perceived in the same way by everyone else, neither will anyone have the same vision as you do

#6 — most ideas are actually shit, and that’s proven once the market (i.e.; people) try it. We’re all different, so market feedback (i.e.; people using it) will define wether it’s a good idea or not. Which in turn is predicated upon getting your idea out there! (i.e.; sharing your idea).

#7 — The idea is really only 0.001% of the process. It’s the people, the systems, the technology, the passion, energy, creativity, perseverance, work ethic, drive and vision that matter. NOT the fucking idea.

#8 — And lets just say that it is an amazing idea; if you’re never going to get off your ass to do anything about it, then you should tell someone in the hope that they actually do something with it!!!!

Like I said; Ideas are like assholes — everyone has one — they’re not special, they’re not unique, and most of them stink.

If you have an idea & you think it’s going to make you the next Mark Zuckerberg or Steve Jobs, then you should stick with your day job.

If you wake up to yourself & realise that Zuck & Jobs (and any other entrepreneur or leader worth their weight) worked their fucking asses off, got sued, made it, lost it all, made it back, got criticised, blamed, scrutinised, experienced the highs, lows and simply insane roller coaster that comes with that level of ‘success’, then you may appreciate what it actually takes; AND you’ll move toward actually sharing your idea & finding the people around you whom you can inspire to see your vision, share your vision & put the sacrifice in that’s required to make it become a reality.

😂😂😂😂😂

Ideas are made for sharing.

We all have them.

They’re not necessarily special.

It’s the passion, work & vision behind them that counts.

So if you’re serious about getting your idea out in the world, then stop talking shit & get your ass moving!

Im Out…

✌🏽
